Michael Orth

Period 2014 – 2015:

Feasibility study for a software company in the area of creating a multi-monitoring meeting application using Microsoft Lync. Created some test-scenarios using Microsoft Lync, C#, and .Net.

Period 2007 – today:

Creation, maintenance and further development of a software, called CADClick, for creating parametric product catalogs with 2D and 3D geometry visualization. Optimizing for offline and online use, development of a customer API for integration in customer programs and web server environments.
Main technologies used Visual C++, Spatial Acis, OpenDwg, running on Windows platforms.

Period 2006 – 2007:

Creation of a optimized converter from/to DXF/DWG (AutoCAD file formats) for a software company in the CAD-area, using Visual C++ 6.0, running on Windows.

Period 2006 – 2007:

Creation of a template editor for inhouse and sales for a mechanical manufacturer, using Visual C++ 6.0, running on Windows.

Period 2005 – 2006:

Further development of an existing web based geometry viewer for parametric product configurations for an engineering office. Using Visual C++ 6.0, running on Windows Server.

Period 2004 – 2005:

Maintenance and further development of a software, called StarVars, for creating parametric product catalogs with 2D and 3D geometry visualization.
As employee of the new owner of the technology, a big American publishing, running a web portal for all kinds of product catalogs. Mostly implementations for direct insert of the geometry into (new versions of) CAD-systems.

Period 2003 – 2004:

Maintenance and further development of a software, called StarVars, for creating parametric product catalogs with 2D and 3D geometry visualization.
As Team-leader and employee of the new owner of the technology, the market leader in running a web portal for (mechanical) product catalogs at that time.

Period 1997 – 2003:

Creation, maintenance and further development of a software, called StarVars, for creating parametric product catalogs with 2D and 3D geometry visualization. Optimizing for offline and online use, development of a customer API for integration in customer programs and web server environments. Managing partner, software development leader and member of the executive board.
Main technologies used Visual C++, Spatial Acis, OpenDwg, running on Windows and Unix.

Period 1995 – 1996:

Development of GUI elements under XVT (Windows, Unix, ...): dock-able Toolbar, Grid, Datasheet, MDI-documents, ... for the market leader in drawing management under AutoCAD and other CAD-systems at that time.

Period 1994 – 1995:

Development of a software for graphical facility of cars, vans and small turcks as mobile work shop for one of the leading companies in this area. Generating all necessary data for making a sales contract  directly on location - inclusive installation sketches, bill of material and estimation of costs.
Using Visual C++, Access, Crystal Reports, running on Windows.

Period 1993 – 1994:

Development of a program for setting/verifying boundaries and planing aqueducts (water pipelines) for a local public services company. Done using Lisp, Windows, MS-DOS, AutoCAD.

Period 1991 – 1996:

Creation, maintenance and further development of a mechanical application for calculations, standard-parts, bill of materials, drawing generation, dimensions and much more, running under AutoCAD and in parts directly on Windows and MS-DOS. Developed with C, C++, Lisp, Arx. As managing partner in a start-up company.

Period 1988 – 1992:

Creation and maintenance of calculation- and construction-software tools, developed in C and Lisp, running on Windows and MS-DOS and partially under AutoCAD. Done as part-time job aside study for a medium-sized company in Augsburg, which developed cleaning robots/machines for spinning machines.

Period 1986 – 1994:

study of Mathematics at the University of Augsburg
